Maroclear organizes the 5th edition of the World Forum of Central Securities Depositories.
Under the High Patronage of His Majesty King Mohammed VI, the city of Marrakech hosted the fifth edition of the World Forum of Central Securities Depositories from April 8 to 12, 2019, under the theme "The Changing Nature of the Financial Markets."
This forum was organized for the first time in Morocco, the second country on the continent after South Africa to host this reference event that brings together the main Central Securities Depositories of the world every two years.
The mission of this event is to improve the exchange of information and collaboration among Central Securities Depositories worldwide. It organizes conferences that gather representatives from different regions around current themes related to the business of Central Securities Depositories.
With more than 300 participants from 90 countries, including leaders from the main capital markets and with the participation of the five regional associations of Central Securities Depositories:
- Asia Pacific CSD Group (ACG)
- Americas Central Securities Depositories Association (ACSDA)
- Association of Eurasian Central Securities Depositories (AECSD)
- Africa & Middle East Depositories Association (AMEDA)
- European Central Securities Depositories Association (ECSDA)
This meeting served as a crossroads for exchanges and reflections on current news and practices in the sector, with a focus on the role and challenges of Cybersecurity, Blockchain, and Fintech for Central Securities Depositories and their activities. Participants engaged in around twenty panels and meetings, moderated and presented by over forty professionals and specialists.
